CAMP LUTHER

From June 15th through June 21st, located at Camp Caesar between Webster Springs and Cowen on WV Rt. 20, Camp Luther provides a camping experience for children and youth.  Camp Luther is a unique setting that fosters the development of young people for service to Christ and His church.  It is a place of spiritual and emotional growth.  Campers encounter God through our worship, prayer, cabin devotions, music, crafts, recreation, and special relationships with each other.  The youngest campers must have completed 3rd grade;  the oldest campers must have completed the 12th grade.  If you have questions about Camp Luther, please call 343-1647 or check out their website at:  www.campluther.com.

Community Needs

The Drop-In Center is in need of its usual supplies: spray deodorant, toothbrushes and sample toiletries.  This month the Food Pantry needs canned vegetables and canned meats.  The Clothing Closet thanks everyone who came out to the Fall Festival at Valley Gardens.  It was great fun and a super success.  The Closet reports that with winter just around the corner, they need winter jackets and coats.  The AIDS Residential and Resource Program are always in need of cleaning supplies, toilet tissue, paper towels and cooking utensils.   ±

YOUR WILL CAN BE A WITNESS

Your WILL can be a lasting testament or witness to your faith.  Your will can include a Christian Preamble, which reminds your family about your faith.  You can also witness to your faith by remembering the work of the church in your will.  A will which includes a bequest for the congregation and other ministries of the church can serve as a lasting witness to others.

The ELCA Foundation and the Lutheran Planned Giving Program can provide a copy of a Christian Preamble, and otherwise assist you as you plan to leave a legacy for ministry.  Contact Barbara B. Carl, Regional Gift Planner at 724-438-7741, or the ELCA Foundation at 1-800-638-3522 ext. 2970.  Visit the ELCA Foundation website at www.elca.org/fo.
